1873 – Vienna – 1921
Friedrich Beck was born in Vienna on 17 December 1873. At first, he studied for two years under Hörwarter at Graphische Lehr- und Versuchsanstalt (Vienna School and Research Facility for Graphics). From 1890 on, he studied at the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts under Griepenkerl and Lichtenfels. As a member of the "Jungbund" as well as the "Hagenbund" and the Vienna Künstlerhaus (from 1905), he exhibited regularly in the associated salons. He painted mainly impressionist-inspired, atmospheric landscapes in watercolours, oils and pastels. Friedrich Beck died in Vienna on 13 August 1921.
