Glass artist. Attended the technical school for glass industry in Haida (Bor); 1905-1908 studied at the Prague School of Arts and Crafts and in the teaching and experimental studio for applied and free art Wilhelm von Debschitz in Munich. His first artistic glass designs date from 1905, for Poschinger Jun., crystal glass factory Oberzwieselau in Oberzwieselau. Was significantly active for the glassworks Johann Lötz Witwe in Klostermühle (Klášterský Mlýn), where he worked as a designer in 1909-1911. In 1911 brief cooperation with the glass factory Brinkmann & Weis in Mügeln near Dresden, where he specialized in the production of luxury glass, then became a teacher at the FachS for glass industry in Steinschönau (Kamenický Šenov). He remained there until 1926; 1918-1926 as its director. Produced a series of designs for the North Bohemian companies Heinrich Hoffmann and Curt Schlevogt in Gablonz (Jablonec) and Conrath & Liebsch and Friedrich Pietsch in Steinschönau. Taught at the State Technical School for the Clay Industry in Teplice from 1926/1927. He was a member of the Prague Central Home Commission for the Glass Industry and of the jury of the Paris Exposition internationale des arts décoratifs et industriels modernes of 1925, where he himself received a gold medal. Was also active in publishing to a large extent.
