Landscape, still life, genre and portrait painter

Born March 18, 1850 in Jamnitz in Moravia, died April 18, 1939 in Vienna. Son of the painter Matthias Adolf Charlemont, brother of the painter Eduard Charlemont, father of Lilly Charlemont. From 1873 studied at the Vienna Academy under Eduard von Lichtenfels, later went to Holland and trained further under Eduard Charlemont and Hans Makart. He was considered an extraordinarily versatile talent and painted still lifes, landscapes, genre paintings and portraits in oil, watercolor and guasch.
