Born 1893 Weikersdorf/Moravia
After a 4-year apprenticeship as an enamel painter, Gabriel attended the k. k. Weaving School for 2 years, then the Graphische Lehr- und Versuchsanstalt for 3 years. From 1912 - 14 he was a student at the Kunstgewerbeschule in Vienna with J. Hoffmann and in the enamel class with Adele v. Stark. He worked for the Wiener Werkstätte and from 1914 - 15 on the portfolio "Die Mode".
