1879 – Vienna – 1919

He attended the Adolf Kaufmann School of Painting from 1895, moving then to the Academy for Fine Arts (August Eisenmenger, Alois Delug). 1900-04 he attended the Franz Rumpler special school where he specialised in depictions of high alpine landscapes and genre pictures of mountains. He produced work for prints, school wall plates and posters with alpine views. He was an ambitious mountaineer.
