Painter and graphic artist, co-founder of "Wiener Keramik"

Löffler studied under Franz Matsch and Koloman Moser and was himself a professor at the School of Arts and Crafts from 1909 on. He taught important artists such as Kalvach and Kokoschka. In 1905, he founded "Wiener Keramik" (Vienna Ceramics) together with Michael Powolny. They produced objects for Wiener Werkstätte, founded by Josef Hoffmann and Koloman Moser. Löffler also arranged several important exhibitions. Thematically, his work is inspired by the world of fantasy, dwarf figures in particular. From 1921 on, he was a member of the Vienna Künstlerhaus.
