1873 – Bolzano - 1939

Carl Moser junior was an Italian painter and woodcutter in Bolzano. He was a student at the Munich Academy and of Hackl and Herterich. From 1901 onwards and inspired by the French Impressionists and Japanese art, he emerged with excellent woodblock prints in colour and was one of the most important German woodcut artists, along with Orlik and Eckmann. The 62 woodcuts published so far depict landscapes, animals, and folk types from Brittany, the Adriatic coast and especially from Tyrol.
