Vienna 1881 – 1963 Prague

Lived in Vienna until 1918. Private studies at the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts (A. Boehm, F. König), where she attended a course of sculpture. She designed wooden toys, bibelots, ceramic and also did interior designs. Podhájská was a member of the Klimt Group. She was in close contact with Czech artists in Vienna and Prague (Helene Johnová and the artists around Artěl). In Prague, she exhibited her toys as early as in 1907. In 1910, she presented an extensive collection of her works at the exhibition at the Topič Salon together with V. Myslivečková. She was successfully represented at exhibitions around Europe even before World War I and worked together with several arts and crafts workshops on a permanent basis. She designed excellent toys for WW, for Deutsche Werkstätten für Handwerkskunst, Dresden (1908-1915), but also for the Czech Hořice toy co-op. In 1918, she moved to Prague and soon started working together with Artěl.
