Vienna 1872 – 1933 New York

Architect, interior decorator, painter, stage designer, exhibition designer and illustrator. Founding member of the Hagenbund, of which he was president from 1906 to 1908. In 1901 he remodeled and furnished the "Zedlitzhalle", the exhibition building of the Hagenbund. In 1911 he moved to the USA, where he became head of set design at the Boston Opera and the Metropolitan Opera. In 1922 he headed the New York branch of the Wiener Werkstätte.
