In the Italian edition of the J. & J. Kohn catalogue for 1906 this showcase is offered as an "Armadietti per salotto" i.e. a living room cabinet. There is an illustration of a salon (A19) in the magazine The Studio—"Year-book of Decorative Art 1908"—which shows furniture put together by Gustav Siegel, as exhibition architect. The design of the furniture is by Josef Hoffmann, as well as the design for Wiener Werkstätte pieces in the same room.
