About the artist |
In 1823, Josef Lobmeyr founded the J. & L. Lobmeyr company. During the time when the Lobmeyr brothers' nephew, Stefan Rath, was running the company, they cooperated with Josef Hoffmann, who designed many glasses for them. Among others, these glasses were presented at the Cologne Werkbund exhibition in 1914. The company also worked with other important artists such as Oswald Haerdtl, Vally Wieselthier, Otto Prutscher, Adolf Loos, Rudolf Marschall and Michael Powolny. Ref.: W.
